Charging

The non-wireless case that comes with the lower-priced second-gen AirPods looks the same as that of the original set.

With the Wireless Charging Case, charging is as simple as placing your AirPods in the case and laying it on a Qi-compatible charging mat. The LED indicator on the front of the case lets you know that your AirPods are charging and when you’re away from a charging mat, you can use the Lightning port to charge.

The Lightning port remains at the bottom of the charging case, and compatibility with the Qi wireless charging standard means that you can charge the case by simply placing it on a Qi wireless charger.
